What You'll See in the 2030s Covers (So Far): Futuristic yet familiar — AI-assisted art, augmented reality covers, and stories that ask "What is an AA meeting in the metaverse?" But inside, the same heartbeat: a drunk sharing how they didn't drink today. You'll see issues on AI sponsorship tools, psychedelic therapy and sobriety, and climate grief in recovery.

Alcohol in America — Projection: We are living the great divergence. Gen Z and Alpha are the least alcohol-consuming generations in modern history, driven by wellness, mental health awareness, and cost. Non-alcoholic craft is a $10B+ industry. At the same time, alcohol-related harms remain concentrated — and policy debates rage about warning labels, social media alcohol marketing, and psychedelic-assisted treatments for AUD that AA is learning how to relate to without endorsing.

AA in the 2030s: AA is 90+ years old and, remarkably, still growing — now with over 2.5 million members in 180 countries. The fellowship is wrestling with timeless questions in new forms: Can an AI be a sponsor? No. Can it help you find a meeting at 2 AM in your language? Absolutely. Hybrid, avatar, and in-person groups are all listed. The 2030 International Convention in Chicago (AA's birthplace is Akron, but its heart is everywhere) is expected to be AA's largest. The Grapevine, founded in 1944 to carry the message to soldiers overseas, now carries it to servers, satellites, and still, to one lonely Grapevine in a prison cell.
